New page

The manifold pressure input pin of the ICM (4-20mA) can be repurposed to instead act as an external timing adjustment. This can be used to connect 3rd-party devices to the ICM to change timing.

This feature requires Ignition version 3801+ and DCT version 1.63.871+.

To use, navigate to Settings - Ignition - "External Input as Timing Adjustment".

[[File:TimingAdj screenshot.png]]

To enable the feature, select "Yes" on the top of this page. Next, enter the values that the ICM should add to the total timing when the input is 4 and 20 mA. In-between the range the ICM will extrapolate the value linearly.

If used with a detonation/knock module, the values on this screen will be negative because as the knock increases the timing is reduced.

The ignition can still get manifold pressure via CAN if the sensor is connected to an EMIT Brain, AFRC, or speed/governor module. The ICM requires some sort of manifold pressure when using load advance.
