Overview

Software update files are used to update modules for new functionality and fixes. Software updates file types are .hex, .tar, or .emt. Note that updates are separate from configuration files (.cfg) which define settings.

The latest software updates can be found here: Software Updates

Different software updates can be put on the same USB drive as long as there is only one per module. The module will look for the correct file name.

  • Example: It is ok to have a Brain and an ICM update on the same drive because the modules will select the relevant file. You shouldn't have two Brain updates on the same drive (e.g. an old and new update) because you can't guarantee which file will be used by the module.
