Vibration Sensor CAN Wiring
The EMIT vibration sensor can be wired as a 4-20mA sensor or using a CAN bus. Benefits of using the CAN bus are (1) the panel analog inputs won't be consumed and (2) more detailed data and information will be available.
As mentioned in the Vibration Sensor Manual, to wire via CAN the connection must make a single daisy-chain from the panel to each sensor. If a sensor is the end of the chain (only one wire goes into each terminal) then the red termination switch will be ON (to inside). If a sensor is in the middle of a chain (wires go in and out of each terminal) then the red termination switch will be OFF (to outside). Several examples are shown below to help illustrate this idea. The enclosures are not shown for cleanliness. In the panel the CAN H and CAN L will ultimately route to the last module in the panel CAN chain (For example, the Brain if it was the current end of the chain).
