Annunciator Digital Output Function Selection

From EMIT Controls

The annunciator digital output selection screen can be used to assign common built-in functions to the digital outputs. This page is shown below.

In some cases, the setup screen for a particular function will already have a box to select an output (For example, see "Idle Hold Setup").

However, for some functions, the only way to assign the output is through this screen. Also, it might be desirable to have two outputs have the same function.

To assign an output to a function, select the output. A list of possible functions will be shown (including "None"), and the desired function can be selected.

Some outputs will be greyed out if they are hard coded to a particular function.

A list of possible options and what they do is shown below.

Digital Out Functions
Option Description
LUBE Powered on when the Pre/Post lube should be active
START Powered when the start output is active. For Non-ECU modes, this runs a starter. For an ECU, this may be on the entire run time as a run signal to the ECU, depending on ECU type.
IDLE Powered on during idle hold or idle switch selection. The output can then be wired to the idle/rated input of another ECU or speed controller
PRELUBE PERMISSIVE Powered on when the prelube permissive is not yet met. Can be used for a lamp
WARNING LT Duplicates the warning (yellow) segment of the light tower
SIREN Duplicates the siren signal of the light tower
RED LT Duplicates the red segment of the light tower
GREEN LT Duplicates the green segment of the light tower
SHUTDOWN ACTIVE Powered on during the ‘shutdown delay’ state. Can be used for a powered-shut fuel valve
SUCTION Suction block valve
DISCHARGE Discharge block valve
BYPASS Bypass valve
BLOWDOWN Blowdown valve
BATT SAVER Battery saver active. Should be wired to kill the panel.
FAULT Powered when in the faulted state
WARNING Powered on when a warning is active
ADEM DER Driven Equipment Ready logic to go the ADEM. Powered on when the system is clearing the ECU to start the unit.
FUEL VALVE Duplicates the logic of pin 10 of the module. Powered on during normal run to allow for a fuel block valve.
START GAS SUPPLY Start gas block valve
SPEED AUTO Powered on when the speed is in the auto state
HOT START Powered on when the engine is off but not faulted, for hot start
RESET Reset broadcast, turns on briefly when reset is pressed
CYL OIL PUMP Cylinder oil pump
SCRB DRAIN Scrubber drain valve
COOLER VFD Cooler VFD run, is generally on when the main motor is on but the start is staggered with a delay
IGNITION ENBL Duplicates pin 9 of the annunciator, turns on when the ignition should be enabled
FLAME DET. FAULT Powered on when any flame detect alarm is active
ASC RESET Use output to drive ASC (Ariel smart compressor) reset pin
RUN STATUS Output is powered on while the unit is running (according to RPM reading)
VALVE UNLOADER Meant for a valve unloader, powers on the unloader when the unit is stopped or warming up. Powers off as soon as the bypass valve closes (end of load delay).
STOP PULSE For a VFD that needs a pulse to stop this output asserts a three second pulse at time of stop. Note: for latch-shut fuel valves, use the option SHUTDOWN ACTIVE instead.
ESD CLEAR Powered on when no ESD fault is active (which is most of the time)
