Throttle Types and Wiring
See Governor Parts for part numbers of various assemblies. The types and wiring of throttles is shown below.
Bosch Throttle
The most commonly used throttle with this module is the Bosch integrated throttle body.
The throttle harness is color coded so that the proper wire is easy to land at the throttle terminal block at pins 20-25.
On the throttle end, the following gives the pinout:
Pin Number | Wire Color |
---|---|
1 | Yellow |
2 | Green |
3 | White |
4 | Blue |
5 | Black |
6 | Red |
Heinzmann 5-pin throttle
There are two sizes of Heinzmann 5-pin throttles that EMIT sells, and they can be used to connect to an existing throttle body with an external linkage.
A harness 15550-2500 or 15625-2500 is used to connect the throttle back to the module. The module wiring is shown below.
Module Pin Number | Wire Color |
---|---|
20 | Red |
21 | (No connection) |
22 | White |
23 | Green |
24 | Yellow |
25 | Orange or Blue |
The pinout at the throttle end is shown below.
Pin | Wire Color |
---|---|
A | Red |
B | Yellow |
C | Blue or Orange |
D | White |
E | Green |
Heinzmann 10 pin Throttle
On VHP and some other engines, the Heinzmann 10 pin throttle may be used to connect to an external linkage. The wiring is shown below for the module end. The harness p/n is 15550-0002.
Note that a 181 ohm resistor needs to be present between pin 20 and 23. The EMIT p/n for this resistor is 15100-0180.
Connector Pin | Wire Color |
---|---|
A | White |
B | Shield |
C | Green |

E | (No Connection) |
F | (No Connection) |
G | (No Connection) |
H | Black |
